   American Institute of Chemical Engineers -            Chicago Section

 

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, AIChE, was founded in 1908. AIChE is a professional association of more than 50,000 members that provides leadership in advancing the chemical engineering profession.


  American Nuclear Society -Chicago Section

To promote nuclear applications in our area, and helps to make the mission of the American Nuclear Society a reality.  Over the past several years, the Chicago Local Section has been very active in few key areas. With the help of several of the organizations members, the local section has been able to take advantage of numerous opportunities to provide education and information to the public. The Chicago Local Section continuously looks for opportunities to provide credible information to the public so they can make informed decisions about nuclear energy.


    American Public Works Association
 

The Chicago Metropolitan Chapter is the oldest and one of the largest, most active Chapters in the Association. The Chapter boundaries encompass the northeastern part of the State of    Illinois and include 8 counties in the region; Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane,    Kankakee,    Lake, McHenry and Will. Currently, the Chapter has five Branches; Suburban, Lake,    Fox    Valley, Southwest and      Chicago. The Chapter was originally formed as The Chicago Chapter, but with the formation of its first Branch in 1967, it became the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter or more commonly known as Chicago Metro.


   

American Society of Civil Engineers -      Illinois section

Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 133,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide, and is    America  's oldest national engineering society. ASCE's vision is to position engineers as global leaders building a better quality of life. The Society celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2002.

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) is dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation, the allied arts and sciences, and related human factors for the benefit of the public. ASHRAE is international in scope.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers -      Fox    Valley

Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today's ASME is a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community.

Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects

The Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects, (AAAEA), was founded in 1996.  AAAEA is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious professional organization. It is open to all architects, engineers and computer science professionals and students of Arab heritage residing in the USA. AAAEA is dedicated to helping its members succeed and advance in their professions by networking and interacting among each others through technical, educational, and social activities and events.  Through networking and interaction with other professional and business organizations, the AAAEA helps and encourages establishing sister organizations in other states.


 

Construction Management Association of          America 
 

CMAA is leading the growth and acceptance of Construction Management as a professional discipline that can add significant value to the entire construction process, from conception to ongoing operation. Membership in CMAA includes more than 2,300 firms and individuals. Owners, engineers, architects, contractors, educators, students...everyone with a stake in the construction industry's success.


     

    Illinois Association of      County    Engineers
 

The Illinois Association of County Engineers is the collective forum of the 102 appointed county officials in direct charge of county highway transportation in      Illinois. Since 1914, the Association has served to provide for the exchange of ideas and information aimed at improving the county highway engineering profession and county highway engineering services to the public.


 

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers -Chicago Section 
 

The Chicago Section of the IEEE serves electrical engineers and computer professionals in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.  Our committees provide opportunities to work on Programs and Special Events, Publications, History Projects, and Government Activities.


  Institute of Industrial Engineers

IIE is the world’s largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Founded in 1948, IIE is an international, non-profit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering.

With more than 15,000 members and 280 chapters worldwide, IIE’s primary mission is to meet the ever-changing needs of its membership, which includes undergraduate and graduate students, engineering practitioners and consultants in all industries, engineering managers, and engineers in education, research, and government.


     

      Illinois Society of Professional Engineers 
 

The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE), established in 1886, is a professional association representing the interests of over 2,500 engineer members from all fields of practice. Headquartered in      Springfield, ISPE includes among its membership licensed professional engineers, licensed structural engineers, licensed land surveyors, engineer interns, graduate engineers, and engineering students.


          Institute of Transportation Engineers

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international professional society of more than 11,000 transportation engineers, planners, and others responsible for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on our streets, highways, and transit systems.


    NED Engineering Association of Chicago
 

The mission of this Association is to create a network which will assist in the development of the Pakistani community’s educational and economic maturation in a challenging and trusting environment.  The purpose of NEDEA shall be to advance the cooperation and understanding among the American engineers in general and NEDians in particular


Polish American Engineers Association

To advance the science of engineering; to continually strive to develop and expand the organization by attracting young engineers of Polish heritage; to propagate contributions of Polish American engineers to the betterment of the United States.
 
 

 

Philippine Engineers and Scientists Organization

Thirty years ago, a group of Filipino engineers headed by Pat Mangonan, Jr., Edgar H. Buyco and Dennis T. Quinto, envisioned a socio-professional organization that would embody the Filipino "Bayanihan spirit- which in its essence is a blend of sharing and cooperation.  Their desire to help one another in their new adopted country, raise  their standard of professionalism, and provide a vehicle for self-expression and leadership, paved the way for the  creation of the Philippine Engineers and Scientists Organization (PESO).


 

Society of American Military Engineers- Chicago Post
 

SAME is a nonprofit association, headquartered in      Alexandria,    VA, which brings together professional engineers and those in engineering-related fields:

Founded in 1920 to engage military and federal government engineers with those in private life, The Society today has some 25,000 members from industry, the military, government and academia.

Structural Engineers Association of Illinois

SEAOI was founded in 1965 in response to unique problems that had been plaguing Structural Engineers in      Illinois for years. Although other engineering organizations existed, their interests were not always compatible with the problems of the practicing Structural Engineer. The efforts of the other umbrella engineering organizations were often diluted by the attention to the other disciplines

  Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in the quality of life, and demonstrates the value of diversity.

The Chicago Regional Section of the Society of Women Engineers, with nearly 250 members fromIllinois andNorthwestern Indiana, is one of the largest of the Society’s 70-plus sections

  Western Society of Engineers
 

The Western Society of Engineers is the area's oldest and most broadly based engineering society, encompassing all engineering and related technical management fields. It is a common meeting ground for engineers to get to know each other and participate in programs of mutual interest.    

The Western Society of Engineers offers its members vast and diverse resources in the field of engineering—WSE is the largest cross-discipline engineering society in the midwest acting as a sounding board for engineering, industrial and educational issues.
